Fine motor skills involve using the small muscles that control the hand, fingers, thumb and wrist. These muscles are super important for performing tasks such as getting dressed, eating, writing, colouring and more.
Fine motor activity was conducted in Playgroup class. In this kids made paper balls from newspaper. Kids first tore newspaper into pieces and then crumpled into balls. Fine motor skills help children perform important tasks such as feeding themselves, grasping objects and writing. This activity was conducted on 24th June, 2021. It was fun for all the kids to make paper balls and then play with it.
The rainy season, the most joyous of them all. Calmness like the summers and cool breeze like the winters from peacocks dancing in the rain to jumping in puddles, this season has it all.
To make the students understand rainy season and develop fine motor skills. Rainy season activity was conducted and kids were seen making beautiful art piece. In this activity kids pasted cotton on clouds and pieces of newspaper on umbrella followed by crayoning in the pics of rainy season kids enjoyed a lot thoroughly throughout this activity.

In order to recognize numbers 1, 2, and 3, a number activity was conducted in Playgroup. In this activity students were asked to tear and paste newspaper on number 1 and color the sun, in number 2 it was to find number 2, students found number 2 and encircled only the number 2 then in the coloring part students were asked to color 2 eyes blue, after that in the number 3, students colored the Indian flag in tricolor i.e. orange, white and green. The result of this numbers activity was, students felt confidence in them that they were able to recognized and count the numbers 1, 2 and 3.

To develop an awareness of nationalism pulses activity (tri color pulses) was conducted which could help them understand the significance of various color of the national flag.
Kids participated with much fervor and enthusiasm. In this kids dress up as tri-color, holding Indian flag and balloons in their hands. It was pleasure to see that our tiny tots were very excited on this day. This activity was held on 13th August, 2021.
Independence day helps us appreciate the value of freedom.
Rakshabandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond which is one of the deepest and honest of all human emotions. To commemorate this festival, a
Rakhi making activity was organized on 19th August, 2021 in playgroup classes. The students made beautiful Rakhi’s using different articles like woolen, thread, glitter, sheets etc. children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and were excited to tie on their brothers hand.
The aim of this activity was t bring out the creativity in craft making handmade rakhis.
Matki Decoration:
Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated virtually amongst the students of Playgroup at SSPS on 27th August, 2021 with joy. The students participated in Matki Decoration Activity. They decorated matki with coloured thread, mirror stones, thermocol balls, crayoning and other attractive material. Students were seen passionately involved in this activity and were brimming with excitement. These were fun filled activity packed with joy and happiness.
Rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development. In order to develop literary work and phonetic segments, rhymes session was held on 29th September, 2021 for Playgroup. In this session children recited various rhymes in full mood. This session displayed the coordination of actions, voice modulation finger play etc. it on children’s musical sensitivity.
Nursery rhymes teach children to pronounce words. They have the role of helping children repeat difficult group of sounds with the aim of improving their speech.
Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children SSPS celebrated grandparents day on 3rd September, 2021. In this activity our tiny tots made lovely photo frame from ice-cream sticks and gifted to their grandparents as a token of love. The success of the celebration was evident through the joyful smiles. It was lovely to see grandchildren and grandparents doing activity together.
Aim of the activity to honour grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children.
The festival of Ganesha is much awaited in kindergarten. Our tiny tots dressed in colourful attire to make this celebration on 17th September, 2021. In this activity children were asked to colour in picture of Lord Ganesha. Children presented their imagination in colouring highlights of the celebration was children dancing on joyful music of Ganesha with glad chants of “Ganapati Bappa Morya”. The sole purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture and enable them to understand the significance of the festival.
Diwali Celebration (Rocket Making Activity)
Diwali is one of the most awaited times of the year for everyone. For children holidays from school let them enjoy the festivities to the fullest. However this year with virtual celebration on 28th October, 2021 SSPS celebrated Diwali by making easy paper craft Rocket for Playgroup. Among kids rocket making is very famous kids enjoyed to the fullest by creating cute little rockets. In this kids made rockets by pasting rectangles and triangles from the card sheet. To create a fire effect, glittery frills the curled golden paper pasted.
To develop communication skill, a project Talk on My Self was scheduled on 14th September, 2021 for Playgroup. Aim of the above is to make the students practice speaking and active listening. In the students participated very enthusiastically. Here students spoke 3 – 5 sentences on myself which elaborated their name, class teacher name, student’s age, their gender, school name etc.
Little ones have always fantasized about colours.
Little ones always about colours, we at SSPS believe that every child has an ocean of inner colour sense, with this aim a Coloring Competition was conducted on 7th October, 2021 in Playgroup. Class were in students filled colours in given picture for competition. In this students brought in their colourful imaginations. Children participated with zeal & showed their talent. It helped them in exploring new ideas, as well as a sense of colours.
Competition which lasted our 40 mins. Finally judge declared the winners which were as follows :
1) First Prize – Soni Mishri R. (Playgroup A)
2) Second Prize – Patel Dhyan V. (Playgroup B)
3) Consolation – Patel Nirmay P. (Playgroup A)
We congratulate the winners and wish them best of luck for future endeavor.
